The HBCU Task Force is dedicated to increasing awareness, access, and opportunity in the field of Industrial-Organizational (I/O) Psychology for students at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). Our work focuses on building meaningful connections between students, professionals, and academic pathways to help diversify and strengthen the future of the field.
Our long-term goal is to support the development and establishment of I/O Psychology programs on HBCU campuses. By creating sustainable pipelines, sharing resources, and fostering partnerships, we aim to ensure that HBCU students have greater visibility into—and access to—careers and graduate education in I/O Psychology.

HBCU Student Webinar SeriesAs part of this mission, we launched the HBCU Student Webinar Series to provide students with foundational knowledge, practical guidance, and direct access to professionals in the field. These sessions are designed to meet students where they are—whether they are just learning about I/O Psychology or actively exploring next steps. Each webinar includes both educational content and a “Day in the Life” perspective from a professional, along with opportunities for Q&A and engagement. Session Topics & Registration Links:
We encourage all interested students to join us and take advantage of these sessions as a starting point in their I/O journey.
